Adding Output Files via Direct Cloud Upload

When you are faced with uploading very large files, or want to upload a nested folder structure and prefer to do so through the UI, the uploader interface of the cloud storage provider backing your Miqa instance can often be the best bet. They have optimized their uploader interfaces for speedy multipart uploads and allow you to get straight to the source.

Note: to use direct cloud upload, you must either own and have upload permission to the output bucket, or expose the permissions. For Miqa-managed storage, you may provide your cloud-storge username to your support specialist, or request temporary opening of upload permissions e.g. during onboarding.

Tutorial

  1. Click the File too large or nested structure? button to open the cloud upload controls.

  2. Click the Manually Upload in Cloud Console button to open the cloud provider's UI where you can drag-and-drop or click to upload your large files or nested folders.

Direct GCP Upload

Follow these instructions if your organization is using a GCP data backing.

  1. If it's your first time using Google Cloud, you may be asked to confirm access. You can use any Google account to write to the manual uploader bucket. It will not be associated with your account or incur charges; it is merely a means to use the Google Cloud console.

  2. Drag and drop or click to upload in the main uploader view. You will see a light red bar warning you that you need additional permissions to list objects in the bucket; this is expected (manual uploader buckets only expose write access).

  3. After selecting files to upload, you will be prompted to Resolve object conflict. This is again due to the lack of list-object permissions granted to the non-Miqa user. Be sure to select "Overwrite object" and "Apply the same action to all remaining object conflicts".

Direct AWS Upload

  1. Sign in to AWS or create an account.

  2. Drag and drop or click Add files or Add folder to add your files
